I am currently employed by the County of Pulaski for the past 25 years. Prior to this I was employed by the Town of Pulaski (12 years) and the U. S. Environmental Agency (2years). My story is more about Virginia Tech. While I was in school my wife worked and for the last 2 years we also had a daughter. Near the end of the fall quarter in 1969 my wife was laid off from her employment and we had no income. Our parents were available but we did not want to ask for help, although they were our parachute. I went to the Financial Aid Office and asked if I could find a job during the Christmas break. They sent me all over campus that day trying to find a job. I finally obtained employment with a contractor installing a boiler at the boiler plant.
