In my job as the Director of Religious Education for the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Blacksburg, VA, I work with adult and teen volunteers to help guide children & youth in developing a strong spiritual, ethical, and moral compass for their lives. My hope is that they will gain an understanding and appreciation for the rich diversity of faiths in the global community, be able to discern between healthy and unhealthy beliefs, be inspired to contribute proactively to the betterment of our world, and sow seeds of peace wherever they go. I gained much from my professors and studies at VA Tech in human development (MHFD – Management, Housing, and Family Development) that is reflected in the work I do.
